MAS 36 CR39

MAS 36 CR39 is a carbine version of the MAS 36 rifle and was designed for paratroopers and was put into production in 1939. The mechanism is the same as in the MAS 36, but the rifle is a bit more compact. It had a slightly shorter barrel than the original, but its main feature is the foldable aluminum stock witch makes it probably the only bolt action rifle with this odd solution.

A light weapon, but wouldn’t a sub machine gun come more in handy?
