MAS 38

The MAS 38 began production just before World War Two by the French manufacturer “Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Etienne” (MAS) and was to be the first French reliable sub machine gun. It is known for its high quality. The weapon looks like it has been broken because of the mechanism, witch lies a bit below the barrel in order to reduce the recoil.

It uses the quite odd French ammunition 7,65x19,5 witch made the weapon impossible to export. The magazine holds 32 shots and it has an effective range of about 150 meters. The weapon was used in Indochina since the French troops had been equipped with is since before World War Two. The Viet Minh who had conquered multiple samples of this weapon converted it to fit the Soviet caliber of 7,65x25.

Caliber: 7,65x19,5
Range: 150 meters
Magazine: 32 rounds
