The MP 40 (or Schmeisser) was a well done, robust sub machine gun of caliber 9x19 and could hold 32 shots in its magazine. The MP 40 was the Germans most used sub machine gun during World War Two and large numbers of this gun got into the hand of the French after World War Two. Many of the weapons were later used in France’s colonial wars, amongst them – Indochina. It was very popular amongst the “German battalion”, witch consisted of large sums of Germans, mainly former soldiers from the third Reich who now served in the French Foreign Legion.
